As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Dear Brother,
May Allāh Taʿālā reward you for your concern in maintaining your dīn. May He reward you fro being consistent in prayer. He ﷻ says:
“Whoever is kept away from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have triumphed.” (3:185)
The fact that you are concerned that you will lose your dīn is a sign of your īmān. Once, a group of Ṣaḥābah came to Rasūlullāh ﷺ and confided that at times, thoughts come to them regarding dīn that they are afraid to express. Rasūlullāh ﷺ asked if these thoughts worry them. They responded that they do. At this point, Rasūlullāh ﷺ exclaimed, “This is true īmān!”[1] This is because worrying about your faith is a sign that you have it in the first place and value it greatly. Do not despair in the mercy of Allāh.
“Say: My servants who have harmed yourselves by your own excess, do not despair of Allāh’s mercy. Allāh forgives all sins: He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” (39:53)
Pornography Addiction
There is no doubt that pornography addiction is a pandemic affecting people, male and female, from all races and religions. It is a great fitnah of our time. Marriages have fallen apart due to spouses not being able to break this vice that afflicted them before marriage. It is a complex issue because it is not as simple as controlling the gaze. Rather, it an addiction which changes the way a person’s mind functions.
