As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Mubārak on your child. May Allāh make the pregnancy and delivery smooth and keep both mother and baby safe.

Rasūlullāh ﷺ said:

“On the Day of Judgement you will be called by your names and the names of your fathers, so give yourself good names.”[1]

Harūn is the name of a great prophet of Allāh. Aḥmad is one of the most beloved names to Allāh.[2]

Throughout the pregnancy, you should remember that going through all of the associated challenges is in fact a type of ʿibādah. Therefore, the parents should stay away from all sin. Similarly, the utmost caution should be taken to ensure only ḥalāl food is eaten. Also, she should increase her dhikr. She should read the following duas as much as possible: [3]

“O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (child)!” (Sūrah Al-Sāffāat, Aayah 100)

“My Lord, grant me from yourself a good offspring. Indeed, you are the Hearer of supplication.” (Sūrah Āl-Imrāan, Aayah 38)

“Oh our Rabb! Grant us the coolness (comfort) of our eyes (grant us pleasure and satisfaction) from our spouses and children (so that they never become a source of regret or distress for us in either world when they follow Islam properly), and make us Imaams (guides) of the pious (make our progeny pious and make us pious enough to guide pious people.)” (Sūrah Al- Furqaan, Aayah 74)

“Our Lord! Make us both submissive to you and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to you, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely you are the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.” (Sūrah Al-Baqarah, Aayah 128)

And Allāh Taʿālā Knows Best Muftī Mohammed Wahaajuddin bin Salauddin (May Allāh forgive him and his parents) --
